IOCDF Online Consultation Groups are interactive, web-based trainings that enable clinicians to improve their skills in treating OCD and related disorders through a series of 90-minute, small-group sessions with clinical experts.
Small groups consist of up to four licensed clinicians who will present a current case to their expert leader, who is a faculty member of the IOCDF Training Institute.
Please note: All attendees must be independently licensed clinicians. However, it is not a requirement to have previously completed a Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) session.
Group Details
Online Consultation groups are offered on a variety of experience levels, populations, and specialty topics. Each semester brings a new and exciting variety of offerings. Read below to learn more about the details that make each group unique!
Introductory
Intended for clinicians who are just starting to get comfortable treating OCD, and are learning the basics of evidence-based treatments.
Intermediate
Intended for clinicians who have a good foundation of how to effectively treat OCD, but are looking to hone their skills in particular topics or populations.
Advanced
Intended for clinicians who are well-versed in treating OCD, but are looking to increase their skills, troubleshoot challenging cases, and network.
Pediatric
Intended for clinicians who primarily want to discuss cases involving clients under 18 years of age.
Lifespan
Intended for clincians who are interested in discussing cases across the lifespan.
Adult
Intended for clinicians who primarly want to discuss cases involving clients over 18 years of age.
General Groups
General groups are open to all OCD cases. Participants benefit from consultation on their own cases and a wide variety of case presentations from other group members.
Specialty Topic Groups
Each new semester brings a set of new topics, selected from faculty areas of interest and requests from our professional community.

Group Format Options
Ad hoc Consultations
Participants sign up for a single session that can be used to discuss a current case in a group format.
3 session packages
Participants meet with the same faculty and group for three (3) concurrent sessions (roughly biweekly).
6 session packages
Participants meet with the same faculty and group for six (6) concurrent sessions (roughly biweekly).
12 session packages
Participants meet with the same faculty and group for twelve (12) concurrent sessions (roughly biweekly)

All consultation groups, regardless of format, are $100 per session. To maintain group dynamics in multi-session groups, partial registration of a 3, 6, or 12-session group is not available.
Refunds are not available for missed sessions due to schedule changes, illness, or any other reason.
If you would like to attend a multi-session group but know you must miss one or more sessions, you may still register, however partial refunds or prorated fees are not available.
At this time, scholarships are not available for consultation groups and professional member discounts do not apply.
Technical Requirements
Consultations will take place on a HIPAA-compliant video platform of the faculty member's choosing.
Attendees must have video and audio capabilities on their devices.
It is recommended that attendees sign up for an account with the platform their faculty uses before attending.
Attendees are discouraged from using their smartphones or tablet to attend the meeting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do Online Consultation Groups offer continuing education credit?
No, consultation groups do not offer continuing education credit for any profession.
I want to sign up for a group, but I can't make all the sessions, what should I do?
While you can sign up for a group knowing you may miss one or more sessions, partial registration for a three, six, or twelve session group is not available, and no refunds or discounts will be offered for missed sessions.
Who are the expert faculty leading these groups?
All consultation group leaders are current IOCDF Training Institute Faculty, click the Faculty button at the top of the page to learn more about each faculty member offering a group this semester.
How will I join my session once I register?
Your faculty member will be notified of all registrants for their group, and you will receive a videoconferencing link directly from that faculty member prior your group start date.
What happens if my group does not reach capacity?
Groups that have three or four registrants will proceed as scheduled. Participants in groups with two or fewer registrations will be contacted that discuss alternate options (canceling the group with a full refund, or delaying the start date to allow more time for registrations).
Are these consultation groups the same as clinical supervision?
No. All attendees should be independently licensed, meaning they do not require supervision to practice. Participants are legally responsible for the quality of care they provide to cases discussed in consultation.
I'm looking for a consultation group on a particular topic and don't see it listed.

I'd like to register for a specialty topic group, but I don't have a current case related to the topic. Can I still register?
While ideally you will have a current case that aligns with the group topic, in many cases it is still appropriate to register if you would like to learn more in that area.
Are scholarships available?
Unfortunately at this time, scholarships are not available for Online Consultation Groups, however, these are offered for many other Training Institute Programs.
I'm an IOCDF professional member, is there a member discount for this program?
No, professional member discounts do not apply to Online Consultation Groups at this time.
